WEATHER WARNING FOR FISHERMEN

 

ISSUED AT 1730 HRS IST OF 14.05.2021

 

 

The Depression over Lakshadweep area moved north-northeastwards and intensified into a Deep Depression and lay centred at 1430 hours IST of today, the 14th May, 2021 over Lakshadweep area and adjoining southeast & eastcentral Arabian Sea near latitude 11.5°N and longitude 72.5°E, about 50 km north-northwest of Amini Divi, 310 km west-southwest of Kannur (Kerala). It is very likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next 12 hours and is very likely to intensify further during the subsequent 24 hours. It is very likely to move north-northwestwards and reach near Gujarat coast by 18th May morning.

Day 1 (14.05.2021): Squally Weather with wind speed reaching 40-50 Kmph gusting to 60kmph is very likely over Comorin area and Gulf of Mannar.
Day 2 (15.05.2021): Squally Weather with wind speed reaching 40-50 Kmph gusting to 60kmph is very likely over Comorin area and Gulf of Mannar.
Day 3 (16.05.2021) to Day 5(18.05.2021): NIL

WEATHER WARNING FOR FISHERMEN FOR OTHER THAN TAMILNADU AND PUDUCHERRY COASTS:

Day 1 (14.05.2021): Squally weather with wind speed reaching 50-60 Kmph gusting to 70 Kmph is very likely over southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep – Maldives area and equatorial Indian Ocean.
Squally weather with wind speed reaching 45-55 Kmph gusting to 65 Kmph is very likely over Kerala coast.
Day 2 (15.05.2021): Squally weather with wind speed reaching 50-60 Kmph gusting to 70 Kmph is very likely along and off Kerala-Karnataka coast.
Squally weather with wind speed reaching 50- 60 Kmph gusting to 70 kmph is very likely over southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep – Maldives area and equatorial Indian Ocean. It is likely to increase gradually becoming Gale wind speed reaching 70 – 80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph over east-central Arabian Sea and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area.
Day 3 (16.05.2021): Gale wind speed reaching 70 – 80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph over east-central Arabian Sea and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area.
SEA CONDITIONS:
Day 1 (14.05.2021): Sea conditions over southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep–Maldives area & equatorial Indian Ocean will be rough to very rough.
Day 2 (15.05.2021) & Day 3 (16.05.2021): Sea condition over east-central Arabian Sea will be High to very High.

HIGH WAVE WARNING ISSUED BY INCOIS:

SOUTH TAMILNADU: High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.7 meters are forecasted during 23:30 hours on 14- 05-2021 to 23:30 hours of 15-05-2021 along the coast of Southern Tamil Nadu from Kolachal to Dhanushkodi. Surface Current speeds vary between 35 - 54 cm/sec.

KERALA: High waves in the range of 3.5 - 5.0 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 14-05-2021 to 23:30 hours of 16-05-2021 along the coast of Kerala from Pozhiyoor to Kasargod. Surface Current speeds vary between 35 - 61 cm/sec.

KARNATAKA:
High waves in the range of 3.5 - 6.0 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 14-05-2021 to 23:30 hours of 16-05-2021 along the coast of Karnataka from Mangalore to Karwar. Surface Current speeds vary between 35 - 92 cm/sec.

LAKSHADWEEP AREA: High waves in the range of 3.5 - 6.0 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 14-05-2021 to 23:30 hours of 16-05-2021 along the coast of Lakshadweep Islands from Minicoy to Bitra. Surface Current speeds vary between 33 - 66 cm/sec.
